Arthur Godbout

June 14th, 2011, at the Sherbrooke University Medical Center, Mr. Arthur Godbout passed away at the age of 61 years old, husband of Mrs. Régine Poirier.

He leaves behind him, other than his wife, his sons David, Nicolas, Philippe and Rémi, his brothers and sisters, and many of his nephews and nieces, other family members and friends.

During his career, this fun-loving character has distinguished himself as a hard-working entrepreneur who was notably the founder of Adcogroup World, a leader in distributing and manufacturing furniture and accessories for stores. The company came into being in 1987 in Sherbrooke and it was initially specialized in distributing accessories to stores. Following his instincts as a businessman, Arthur opened the following year the first Adcogroup World branch on Meilleur Street in Montreal in the fashion district. Throughout the years, Adcogroup World became a North American leader in the store furnishing industry and now counts in its headquarters in Saint-Hubert and its branches in Edmonton, Montreal and Quebec City. It also has a manufacturing plant, located in Boucherville, which produces metal-based products, a cabinetmaker and partners overseas.

Although Arthur was an active member of the company’s advisory committee, he handed over the reins, a few years ago, to his sons Rémi and Philippe who respectively hold the position of President and Operations Vice-president of the company. He also gave strategic advices to his son David, owner of Conception Apex, a kitchen cabinet manufacturer in Boucherville.

We would like to offer to the immediate family our sincerest condolences, for today, we lost a father, a friend and a mentor…
